Wednesdays This Summer at UBC

This summer, we are breaking from our normal mid-week meal and Bible study and have several things planned, plus we have a few suggested items for the nights that are not planned. The dates in bold are the planned activities. The dates in italics* are the suggested activities.

Wednesday, May 29

6:00pm – Assemble and Deliver Goodie Bags for First Responders. This can be store bought or homemade items. Bring them and meet us at the church at 6:00 pm.

Wednesday, June 5

6:00pm – Picnic in the Park at Everly Park. Bring a covered dish and meet us in the park at 6:00pm. Also, be sure to invite a friend to come with you.

Wednesday, June 12*

Invite a Friend to Dinner. Use this time to spend time with a friend or neighbor, or make a new friend. The goal is to make a connection with someone you may need to share the gospel with.

Wednesday, June 19

4:00pm – 6:00pm – Macomb PCC – If you haven’t already, come volunteer.

6:00pm – Potluck and Pictionary at the church. Bring a dish to share and come exercise your imagination and competitive spirit.

Wednesday, June 26*

Fasting and Prayer Night. Exercise the spiritual discipline of fasting and prayer and use this time to pray for our time at Heritage Days

Thursday, June 27 – Saturday, June 29

Though not on Wednesday, plan to join us as we give out Bibles at Heritage Days. We will have a booth and need help covering the different shifts.

Wednesday, July 3

Ice Cream Social and Game Night – Rather than eating Ice Cream in the heat on the Pastor’s Back porch, most wanted to have this in the AC and opted to do so on July 3 instead of the Fourth. So join us at 6:00pm at the church.

Wednesday, July 10*

Go to the Square and Play Macombopoly with a friend. While your there, try to talk to people and share the joy of Jesus.

Wednesday, July 17

4:00pm – 6:00pm – Macomb PCC – If you haven’t already, come volunteer.

Time TBD – Sing a Long at Wesley Village. We are going to host a hymn sing / sing a long at Wesley Village. If you have a favorite song, be ready to sing it. We will take a guitar or two. If you have the music to go with the song, bring it with you, and join us at Wesley Village at a time TBD.

Wednesday, July 24*

Movie Night. The movie theatre is open once again, so either go to, or have someone over for a Movie Night, oh… and don’t forget the popcorn!

Wednesday, July 31

Mini Golf Night at Ball Fore. Join us at 6:00pm at Ball Fore for a little friendly competition and comradery. Bring friend along and enjoy a night of fellowship.

Wednesday, August 7*

Be a Blessing Wednesday. Many people are in need today. Probably someone you know. Determine how you can fill that person’s need and do so.

Wednesday, August 14

Welcome Back Bombers at YFC. For those who are able to meet us early, we are going to meet at the YFC building after school for a Welcome back gathering. We will be serving Burgers and Dogs, soda, and chips. We need cooks and people willing to meet and greet the students.

Wednesday, August 21

Return to our normal Midweek Meal at 6:00pm and Bible Study / Vision Meeting at 6:30pm. In fact, August 21 will be our Fall vision meeting.

The days that we don’t have organized activities, these nights are suggestions for you. The challenge is to use them for ministry purposes and not just to use them to sit at home and do nothing. As we have talked about in our Return of the King series, it is time to be found working, and so let’s use these activities to re-invigorate ourselves and to use what we know to do ministry.
