It’s a New Year
It’s a new year which usually leads to new challenges as well as new joys. A number of things are changing already this year. First we have moved our Youth Group Meetings to Thursday night in an attempt to not interfere as much with the school calendar. We are also going to move our 159 group meetings to Tuesday nights this semester to try to gather more in attendance. Weekends were tough for many. Also beginning this week we have a new Women’s Bible Study that will take place on the second and fourth Wednesday’s of each month. At the same time we will also have a Men’s Bible study. If you are one that normally does not attend on Wednesdays, perhaps you might reconsider coming on the Second and Fourth Wednesdays.
I am truly excited at what God is doing at UBC. We have been seeing new visitors and guests. We have some exciting things coming up in the future, such as hosting the 2015 All-State Youth Choir Retreat to being asked to host a community service at the end of Heritage Days this year in June. But as with all successes in the ministry and life of the church, challenges are always on the doorstep as the enemy doesn’t want us to succeed. This can display itself in many forms; from relationship problems to disputes or even just misunderstandings.
It is my goal this year, as I hope it is yours, to put aside any feelings that lead to strife and instead to seek unity and Christian love. With these we will make great strides at changing our world around us.
